I know this is a bit of a different story for this type of site,
but...in a way it truly isn't. While this story is dedicated to those
with children, with the hopes that the parents can read it to them,
it's perhaps easy for certain adults to imagine the characters in a
different light. Especially since I know a few of them have met the
characters in this story. So with it, I hope that I've created a
little something for everyone to enjoy. :)
Summer Holly Madison
Puppy's
Day Alone
by,
Summer Holly Madison
Holly loved her owner Ariel and Ariel loved puppy Holly.
Whenever Holly was frightened by lightning, Ariel would hold her
close. Whenever Ariel was saddened by a movie, Holly would lick her
hand.
They were perfect together. Ariel would take walks with Holly, Holly
would lay in Ariel's lap when she was reading, they were both so
happy together.
Unfortunately, that didn't mean that there were bad times. Holly was
a puppy after all and at times she might get too playful and knock
something over! Ariel would get upset and Holly would whimper
apologizing for what she had done.
But there was one thing that the two just could not like. That was
when Ariel had to leave Holly home alone.
Holly would bark, she would howl, she would whimper and whine but no
matter what Ariel would have to leave reminding the puppy “Someone
has to make sure there's puppy food for your dish.”
Ariel would pat Holly's head, she would pat Holly's back, and then
she would SCRITCH HOLLY'S TUMMY and Holly would calm down
every time. She was, after all, loyal and she knew deep down in her
heart that Ariel would always come back. It was just a matter of
passing the time until then.
First, Holly found a comfortable spot on a small flower print rug in
the kitchen. She curled up into a little ball and closed her eyes.
Meow. Meow.
It was the cat from next door
sitting up just outside the window. Her fur was so dark that her
owners had named her Shadow. She was always such a tease to Holly
always wanting her to come out and play.
Meow. Meow.
The kitty said again hoping to
attract the young puppies attention.
However, Holly was loyal and she
knew Ariel would be coming home soon. So she didn't have time to
play.
Next, Holly tried to sleep up on the
striped comforter across Ariel's bed. She curled up into a little
ball and closed her eyes.
Tweet tweet. Tweet tweet.
It was Tweety, a lovely bird with a
yellow head and very colorful wings sitting up on a branch by the
window. She was always wanting Holly to come out and chase her.
Tweet tweet. Tweet tweet.
The bird sang again hoping to
attract the young puppies attention.
However, Holly was loyal and she
knew Ariel would be coming home soon. So she didn't have time to
chase.
Now Holly tried the living room. She
hopped up on the couch and snuggled herself against a pillow with
bright yellow stars on it. She curled up into a little ball and
closed her eyes.
Neigh! Neigh!
What could this be? It was a sound
Holly had never heard before so she hopped her two front paws up on
the couch and looked out the window. There was a parade going by and
there were horses pulling carriages!
One horse had a bright white mane
and she whinnied out loud.
Neigh! Neigh!
Such a new sight and a new friend
Holly could see, she just had to go outside. But on the way to the
door, Holly remembered.
She was loyal and knew Ariel would
be coming home soon. There would be no time to make new friends
today.
Holly was so tired by this point.
She had spent the entire afternoon running around the house so she
just laid down in the front hall. She curled up into a little ball
and closed her eyes.
Bark bark! Bark bark!
Holly was so tired she didn't open
her eyes this time.
Lick lick! Lick lick!
Now Holly was awake and she looked up to see Ariel. But not just
Ariel, it was another puppy! Holly was so excited to see both she
JUMPED to her feet and began wagging her tail.
“I feel so bad leaving you alone,” Ariel said, “So I brought a
new friend for you. She is very cute. Do you think so too?”
Holly and Charlie sniffed, then they barked, then they ran around
chasing after one another. They had become instant friends.
When Ariel sat down on the couch, both of her puppies came up beside
her, they curled up into little balls, and closed their eyes.
The End
