The Perfect Pet pt. 1

***DISCLAIMER***
First story! I hope it's enjoyed. Yeah...it's fan fiction, (Alleyne from Queen's Blade and Sonico from Sonicomi) but still a lot of fun. :) Also, yes, it's based off the present I gave Kat. :P I dunno where I wanna go with it. I mean, I know the ultimate end of it, just not the path there so don't expect quick updates on this. Sorries.

It's a bright day in the forest where a fair deal have come to gather by a massive oak tree to watch and bid on the parade of individuals brought before them in chains of some varying degree. Among the gathered crowd was a young were-rabbit who, unlike everyone, watches with great interest as an elf girl is brought up next.

“She looks cute.” The rabbit declares, her comment getting nothing more than a few groans in response. “What?”

“Cute to look at sure.” Replies an orc whose tone suggests a high level of disinterest in what was thus far an uneventful bid. “But you know how stubborn those elves are and how impossible they are to train.”

“She might look nice in a cage though.” Suggest a matango fungal creature touching at her lip in curiosity.

“That's still too much upkeep.” Retorts a blue colored slime. “You'd still have to feed it. Be so much easier to simply devour the thing yourself.”

“Devour?” The rabbit exclaims looking back at the elf who glares at everyone, almost as though daring them to bid. “What'll happen if no one buys her?”

“Sent to the mines most likely.” The orc answers shrugging his massive shoulders.

“That's not right.” The rabbit says looking around the crowd seeing no one even considering a bid. Therefore, she hops from her seat throwing up a paw. “Twenty carrots!”

“Are you insane?” Exclaims the matango.

“Your funeral.” The orc replies crossing his arms.

The rabbit ignores them however, as she clasps her paws together in delight watching as the auctioneer accepts the bid and calls for a higher one. The elf's eyes widen as she turns to the auctioneer as soon as he proclaims “Sold!”

“Yay!” The rabbit hops about clapping her paws together.

“What a waste of carrots.” The slime says disappointed.

“I'm going to train her.” The rabbit replies still watching now as her purchase is led from the block. “You'll see. I'll make her the perfect pet.”

Back in the rabbits home, which was little more than a converted massive tree stump, the recent procurer of the elf drops down the chain letting out an “oof” as she does.

“That's one heavy chain and this collar you have on,” The girl comes close to the elf touching along the extra thick collar made entirely of metal with the inscription “Elf 2487”. “Something tells me your captors didn't want you getting away.”

She giggles as the elf looks away only glancing back when she hears a slight rustling noise. From over by a pantry, the were-rabbit brings out a couple carrots.

“Hungry? I'm Sonicomi, by the way. Though you can just call me Sonico. Not Soni, that's reserved for my mother.” She giggles dangling out the carrots. “Come on, they're yours to eat. What's your name?”

The elf doesn't answer, instead she just turns away once more.

“I guess you don't speak much English. Well, that's okay. I can just guess then. By the looks of your outfit, I'd say you were a fighter before getting captured so I bet you have a pretty strong sounding name. I hear that's how elves generally do it anyway, they give a name to their destined role.”

Still the elf remains silent just trying to make it seem like she wasn't looking around in the direction she was facing. There wasn't much for her to look at though, just a few pictures along the inner trunk wall and the fractured door.

“You know, I'm trying to be nice here. I can be cruel if you prefer, it's just I felt we could be more friends than owner and pet, you know?”

The elf turns and finally opens her mouth.

“Amin essa naa alleyne, amin nae y' Ohtar instructor n'alaquel eska ar' amin nae no' amin men n'alaquel tuulo' y' tournament iire-”

“Alleyne?” Sonico asks startling the elf. “That's a pretty name. I didn't understand the rest but your name is Alleyne, right?”

Still stunned, it takes Alleyne a moment before she finally nods a single time.

“Great! Oh, don't look so surprised. I've been the a few brothels in my time and I've seen plenty of elves there. They aren't taught English either so all they're really allowed to say is 'Amin essa naa' followed by their name. I'm not fluent though so, like I said, I don't know what else you said but it'll be a joy learning about you.” Sonico says with a smile still holding out the carrots. “So...you hungry?”

Alleyne's eyes drop down and then turn to the wall away from Sonico who sighs crawling a little closer toward her pet.

“Your suit really makes you look like a warrior, and this style of chain and collar makes it seem like you put up a big hassle being brought here. Therefore, I'm sure you're a pretty proud person. I get that. But what I don't get is why you'd let starvation be your end. Is that really how you want to end things? Weak? Shriveled? Hungry? Please just eat the carrot. It's tasty.” Sonico takes a little nibble off the end giving it a few chews as Alleyne looks over. “See? Here.”

She offers the nibbled carrot to Alleyne who, after looking it over, quickly grabs hold of it and begins to devour it quickly along the side. Sonico watches with a smile then sits back to where she was before as Alleyne spots the second carrot and throws out a hand.

“You want the second one too?” Sonico inquires as Alleyne gives another stiff nod of her head not taking her eyes off the orange vegetable. “Manners first.”

In response to her Mistress' orders, Alleyne just slaps the tips of her fingers against her palm in a wanting fashion. Sonico shakes her head and takes a big bite from the carrot chewing it and spitting it in her palm.

“If you're gonna be like that,” She tosses the chunks of carrot in front of Alleyne. As they land they're covered by dirt and, for a moment, it looks as though the elf was really going after them still. But she looks over at the fresh carrot still being dangled by its greens. “That's what you get. But if you be nice, you'll get the rest.”

Sonico continues to dangle the carrot as Alleyne watches feeling a trace of drool coming along the corner of her lips. Shaking her head she tries to resist but realizes she won't get it any easier than this. Therefore, she comes along on her knees slowly and rests by the rabbit cupping her hands together just a little closer to herself.

“That's better.” Sonico rests the carrot in Alleyne's palms allowing the elf to be a little slower at eating it now. “I'm going to have to teach you English so you can learn your please and thank yous.”

She giggles a little feeling like a mother as she watches Alleyne take her time with the second carrot. Feeling an urge she can't resist, Sonico reaches out touching the top of Alleyne's head sparking a reaction from the elf girl as she quickly backs away as far as her leash will take her. She continues to tug away but Sonico keeps a firm grip of it.

“Calm down, Alleyne, calm down. I'm sorry, I just thought it'd be cute doing that is all. Did you want some water?”

Keeping a grip of the chain, Sonico goes over to a pail full of water and dips a cup inside. She turns handing it to Alleyne who gulps the entire thing down before she begins coughing.

“You okay?” She asks going to pat her back but again the elf moves away. “Okay, no touching. I just wanna make certain you don't get sick or hurt.”

Sonico continues to watch Alleyne until the elf has calmed down enough to take a deep breath. Now that her pet was fine, Sonico lays down along a small bed set up in the corner.

“I hope you don't mind, Alleyne, but today was a bit busy and this chain of yours was heavier than it looks. I need to lie down for a bit. You should probably do the same.”

She suggests as she keeps hold of the chain and turns from Alleyne curling herself up into a little ball. Alleyne looks to the door figuring she could get away and gives the chain a few tugs at her collar. Unfortunately, that part of it was welded together making it impossible to remove either without the key. The other part of the chain was attached by a leather strap to Sonico's wrist and with no blade or sharp instrument in sight that was a dead end to freedom as well. Therefore, Alleyne reserves her wishes for freedom for now and finds a comfortable enough patch along the floor and lies down trying to find the means of getting comfortable.

She must not have been able to given that an hour or so later, Alleyne begins to rummage around through the pantry waking up Sonico in the process who brings herself up and looks over.

“Alleyne?” Hearing her name, Alleyne turns a little startled as Sonico brings herself around so she can sit with folded legs rubbing at her eyes. “What are you doing?”

Sonico looks around noticing a few veggies out as well as the kettle and a few other bits. Making her own assumptions, she looks back to the elf.

“Making some soup?”

Alleyne had been looking for something sharp to cut herself free with, but now wouldn't be a good time. Though she notices Sonico point to the kettle.

“Soup? To eat?”

Still staring back at Sonico, Alleyne nods having no clue what her Mistress was going on about. Sonico sighs and brings the kettle up to the water as Alleyne steps back suspiciously.

“I guess you don't like raw veggies, do you? I mean, I shouldn't have thought you would. I guess I can make you something from this but it won't taste any good.” Sonico reaches out startling Alleyne once more who brings up her hands in defense. Sonico just giggles and takes a small pouch from a shelf and shows Alleyne the inside of it. “See? No herbs. It would just be vegetables in water.”

Alleyne takes hold of the pouch, which Sonico releases for her, and peeks inside bringing her hand in and then back out. Seeing little remnants on her fingertips and brings it up to her nose and sniffs.

“Merka lissuin?” She takes a taste next.

“I'd like to put these in here,” Sonico points to the pouch and then down to the kettle before making an exaggerating shrug. “But I don't have any.”

Alleyne turns the pouch upside down shaking it some.

“Right. None left.” Sonico repeats calmly as Alleyne looks into the kettle then ties the pouch up to her belt. “Alleyne?”

She doesn't respond, instead she turns and heads for the door prompting Sonico to grip the chain but not yank back. When Alleyne can go no further, the elf just turns back and looks at the chain like it was never there before.

“Where are you going?” Sonico asks concerned as Alleyne watches back at her slowly taking the hint that she isn't being allowed out. Therefore, she gestures down at the pouch getting Sonico shaking her head. “It's dangerous out there for you to go alone.”

Alleyne says nothing but looks again at the door. Eventually, Sonico gives in and begins to remove the leather strap around her wrist.

“I guess if anyone can survive out there, it'll be you. But I want you to be careful, okay?”

She fully lets go of the chain letting it drop down to the floor as Alleyne watches it and looks to Sonico shortly after to see her trusting smiling face. Alleyne says and does nothing as she just turns and walks from the trunk while Sonico watches biting her lower lip.

“Faith.”

She says alone now as outside Alleyne wastes no time in trying to pull the leash from her collar. Even with all of her strength she can't manage to even crack the welding. Figuring she should use some form of assistance, she picks up the hefty chain and looks around finding some sturdy looking trees not too far away. After giving Sonico's home one final glance, she hurries to the trees and begins to wrap up the chain around the trunk when she hears screaming. Looking up, she finds a carriage in the form of a cage quite familiar in style to her with a couple of horses at the front. Narrowing her eyes, Alleyne hurries toward it.

“Please! They're just children!” A were-rabbit female begs fighting off a burly looking man who quickly backhands her away.

“Just how the boss wants 'em. Nice and young to be trained. But you don't look too old yourself.”

The man smiles as he approaches the downed rabbit before a thrown stick hits him across the head. Looking over, he finds a small rabbit boy grab hold of another stick with a girl standing directly in behind him.

“You little...” He says hurrying up to the boy who turns to run but finds himself caught by the back of his shirt. He kicks and yells but the man picks him up getting in close. “Maybe a few days in the pit will soften you up to be a little more obedient, eh?”

He continues to laugh until another stick hits him across the back of the head. He turns and spots Alleyne standing close by with fists raised.

“Escaped elf bitch, eh? Gonna make a nice mint off you.”

The man tosses the kid aside and charges at Alleyne who side steps, trips, and pushes at the back of the man's head all in a single move it seems causing him to run head first into a tree knocking him unconscious. The man's partner, seeing this, flicks the reins bringing the horses to life for a quick get away as Alleyne attempts to give chase but finds her chain now underneath the unconscious man. She manages to tug it free and turns back to find the mother with her two children in tears.

“Thank you. Thank you so much!”

The words fall empty on Alleyne as she stands there uncertain of what is said and just watches as the three race off back into the woods hoping to find shelter. Alleyne continues watching them paying attention to their ears much like Sonico's and suddenly a feeling of dread comes over her as she looks back in the direction she came.

Back at Sonico's home, the were-rabbit hums a tune to herself as she dices up some carrots along the counter top when she hears the door being pushed open. She jumps and turns to find Alleyne standing there breathing heavily.

“Alleyne? What happened? I hope you didn't think you needed to hurry back with the herbs, I'm still dicing after all. Alleyne?”

Alleyne stands shivering, looking perplexed over something as she eyes back at Sonico and then to the chain hanging from her collar. Swallowing a bit of air, she turns back out as Sonico follows after her only to find her elf pet down on her knees crying out.

“Alleyne!”

Forgetting how she reacted before, Sonico goes to embrace the traumatized elf and this time it lasts a bit until Alleyne shoves her back staring back at her. Tears still in her eyes she watches as Sonico sits back up looking toward her.

“Alleyne?”
