Candi; A Case Study

 

About the Author

Ruby, as she's known within Katalina Star's inner circle, has played the submissive role for the dominatrix from the start of July, 2017 often writing of her experiences in hopes of developing them into a thesis study for her university graduation where she's a student of journalism. Her hope is to one day change world acceptance on the field of S&M into a more positive light.

Introduction

When entering into Mistress Katalina's Dungeon complex, one is met with a series of interesting curiosities. From the statue of her first Mistress, one that stories claim house the skeletal figure of the former dominatrix, to the two storey hamster cage built just as you exit the atrium. There's the massive pool structure with the built in fish tank circling the entire location with live “mermaids” inside, and the vault built inside the pantry housing Katalina's personal storage of granola. There's certainly enough to catch ones attention. But above all else, the one part of the Dungeon that attracts the most attention isn't a room or an object, but a person. Candi.

It would be incorrect to consider Candi the “sore thumb” of Katalina's roster of followers. She's more...the Candi of Katalina's roster followers. I understand that isn't exactly an easier way of putting it, but when inquiring about those closest to Candi about this matter the term “unique” was definitely a constant theme.

Colorful Beginnings

Candi first entered the stage that would lead her to Katalina as a dancer and constant associate of then wrestler, Roxie Stevenson.

“I remember dancing one night in Norway and saw Candi dancing along on the floor to my track. I took her hand and invited her up on stage to dance with me. When we finished I asked if she wanted to be my best friend and she hugged me.”

“Candi...was different. She didn't have a formal interview like everyone else as as soon as the club owner saw her, I can say tits, right? Massive tits bouncing around on stage she was hired. I don't think she quite understood that as the reason. She just really liked dancing.”

And Candi did dance. She danced all across Norway straight over the Atlantic and into the heart of Las Vegas, both figuratively and perhaps even literally. There, she became a showgirl while dancing at smaller clubs on the side. All of them night clubs, gentlemen clubs, strip clubs if you just want to come out and say it. All of this despite Candi's heavy Catholic upbringing.

“I asked Candi one day about her religion and why she would choose such a sinful profession. I asked if she was just trying to make God angry and she smiled and shook her head telling me 'no, God loves us all. I'm dancing cause I wanna let people know it's okay to dance.' That was the closest she ever came to preaching. She never argued with anyone, she never tried to convert people, she just wanted to make people smile and dance.”

However, aside from dancing to show God's continued love, Candi credits another account of her life as being her closest to the Lord. While out on a walk, Candi's brother Chip (Yes, Candi's brother's name is Chip) slipped nearly falling off of a cliff. Candi, much smaller and weaker than her at the time overweight brother, shouldn't have been able to grab him but she did. Not only that but she held him until her parents could come and help them both up. Although requiring surgery on her shoulder for the torn muscles, Candi still credited God for giving her the strength that day to save her brother, who took it as a sign to get into better shape. Since then, Candi has gotten herself a simple line tattoo over the surgery scar making it into a crucifix. One that she and God made together.

To the Ring and Straight into Chaos

Given Candi's penchant for dancing and her desires to be constantly by the side of her BBBFFL, Roxie, Candi soon expressed a great interest in joining her in the ring. Something that Roxie quickly agreed to.

“Candi came wanting to learn my awesome dance fight style. I already knew she had the spirit of a dancer in her so I knew I could really train her! Not, you know, turn her into a train. More like teach her. Not to be a train.”

Candi's short tenure in the ring wasn't exactly a perfect outing. Her start was, to put it bluntly, rather disastrous and it seemed she wasn't going anywhere until a fated meeting put her up against future World Champion and her partner, Emma Carlisle.

“Candi? She's an interesting sort... but that has not always been the case. When I first came across her in GPW, she was extremely flighty and unfocused. I would not go so far as to call her stupid, but she seemed to take very little seriously and literally went wherever she was led. Even into danger. Several times.”

It was these constant bouts with danger that soon attracted the attention to the former tag team champion of GPW and future Mistress for Candi, Katalina Star.

“Inside the ring Candi's presence by my side was to show how far happiness could get you. I was invited by Emma and Joanna to join their stable, the Horsewomen as Strife, and I knew I needed to make an impact. Something equal to that of my colleagues just being...them. If I brought in Candi on a leash I knew I would turn some heads.”

Although while that explains the in ring presence of Candi by her Mistress' side, it still leaves to question of what some would consider the more favorable level of treatment. Living in Katalina's Dungeon penthouse suite (albeit in a small cage under Katalina's bed), access to the elevator leading to said penthouse, the title of neither slave nor submissive, not to mention the ability to eat granola in front of the Mistress herself. As a matter of fact, Candi is one of the few even allowed to take outside lessons on really anything. That, of course isn't something only allowed to Candi, Katalina offers up such freedoms of all those who live under her roof, but Candi is certainly one to take advantage of it taking part in classes of taekwondo.

“Candi, what can I say about her? She's unique in ways that most would look down on her for. But when she came to my Dojang and asked me to train her, I looked at her as a challenge. I saw a student with potential, and I teach her in a different way to the other adults in the group. Candi has her own rhythm, a love of the dance, I move to that rhythm and she learns it perfectly as it's taught to be a combat dance, seeing it once. Doesn't matter how long it takes to earn the belt, it has to be earned, and Candi has earned them all from white to her new red tag"

None of these, however, have struck as much a chord with those living in the Dungeon as much as;

The Controversial Mark

“I've been loyal to Mistress for years now and she's given me enough to be happy. Promotions, a place by her side, even a pet of my own. However, the one thing I truly know I deserve she won't give me but it's right there over Candi's backside.”

When first shown, the mark of ownership upon Candi's left upper thigh drew mixed reactions from the Dungeon inhabitants. It was, to them, Katalina saying that Candi was her property above all the others. Some took it as a means that they would soon be asked to leave while others were more than happy for Candi to obtain such a mark.

“When I first saw the mark I was, I'll admit, a bit jealous. But when I thought about it, it meant that this was becomining Candi's home. I had heard about her and her wife and I was sad because Candi was like a little lost puppy without a home. This meant she had that and family to look after her.”

“I think it's safe to say that, even to this day, Candi doesn't fully comprehend what is going on around her. I don't think she understands slave, submissives, or even my role as a dominatrix. When she came to me some years ago with her then girlfriend Domino...”

And that was really where the whole thing comes around. Because Candi was, at first, a simple client of Katalina's partaking in the odd bout of spanking. Although during this time rules were set for the engagement by Domino herself.

“She laid down some pretty strict rules of engagement when it came to my sessions with Candi. Nothing sexual, nothing that would hurt. My spankings had to be short and end before the cheeks turned any shade of pink. I couldn't use any names, I couldn't give her my own name for her, it was basically a completely controlled session. Not that I had any problems with that then or even now, Candi was cute and I enjoy working with her.”

Which, of course, brings the question of Domino's whereabouts. One doesn't need to look very far, however, as she lives just a couple hours down the road. But while the physical distance is just a short drive the spiritual distance is astronomical.

“I didn't want to leave Candi, I loved her. But when the Red Lady comes demanding your attention...you answer.”

Domino was left with a choice when it came to this calling; to either ignore her own religious beliefs and stay with a woman that was declared an “outsider”, or stay firm in her obedience to her Goddess and leave Candi. Unfortunately, it was decided that the latter be chosen. But even the darkest clouds can hold their silver linings.

Life Under Katalina

Despite the setback in Candi's life, it left the door open for her to be fully taken in by Kat who had, at that point, still been looking after the girl.

“I suppose one way to look at it is that I adopted Candi. She's certainly become like a second daughter to me despite the fact that she's only five years younger than myself.”

Some would even view this as a positive change in Candi's life.

Candi has not changed much in terms of personality; she is still very much the happy, bubbly creature who can find joy in just about anything. But there has been a new focus since becoming Katalina's lion. She has been given purpose, purpose which she has embraced. Perhaps that is all she needed in the first place: proper direction. Katalina is not only a woman of great skill in many pursuits, but also a woman of great patience. Candi has no pressure put upon her under Katalina's watchful eye and thus she has grown naturally since their connection.”

“Candi is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. I did not know of her until after she was with Katalina, thus I've only heard stories from Emma and Joanna along with a few others who were in GPW. But from all that I've observed by being around her for the past year-plus, I would say that Katalina's efforts with her have yielded impressive results. Nothing about Candi has changed in that time in terms of her sweet disposition and her efforts to make people smile. What has changed is that she has someone who is looking out for her best interests while letting Candi be Candi. Too many people have tried to control or outright use her in the past but there's been no evidence of that here. If anything, Katalina's guidance has enhanced her.”

So while neither a submissive or a slave, Candi's reasons for being within Katalina's confines are definitely sound.

If Katalina is the heart of the Dungeon, then Candi would definitely be the energetic emotional core of it, if not the entirety of the Kat Empire.
